Not where I should be, but at least I’m somewhere

We’re a little over halfway through NaNo and I don’t know about you, but I am feeling a little frustrated. I’m still hanging in there, but I am still behind on my word count. I admire people who can spit out one thousand words in thirty minutes or less, but I am not one of them. It takes me a minute to get going, though admittedly, once I hit my stride, then you have to peel me away from the keyboard.

If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed, then I’m here to tell you that you’re not alone. I’m right here with you still pounding on the keys until I have to get ready for the next day. This isn’t the time to panic, but to dig in and know that this is something that we can do. We can do it. Bob the Builder said so. (I’m a mom, sue me.) Jokes aside, we can get through this together. We’re not going to stop. We’re not going to just abandon our projects and say, “Maybe next year.” This year is our year. Whether we finish in November or in December, we’re going to finish.

We’ve come too far to turn back.
