As a writer, sometimes you need to just suck it up. You’re going to have days where the characters are just not into you. You are going to have days where you may only get a hundred or so words on the page. Some days, you might find yourself staring down at a blank page. It happens. Get over it. The sooner you realize writing is work — albeit fun work — the sooner you will realize that like work, you have your good days and not so good days.
If you can understand that, then you have a chance to go on and do something amazing. If you can’t understand, then do yourself a favor, put down the pen or turn off the laptop and walk away. You’re the only one who can make the decision. But when you do, you’ll feel better knowing that you made the best decision for you. And that, dear reader, is the right decision.
