The first day of NaNoWriMo is in the books. I knocked out my first 2,000 words, though the first 750 were agonizingly slow. I’m a slow starter. I fumble around with words until a scene starts to take shape in my head. It’s funny, I can visualize what I am trying to write, but there is a slight disconnect when it comes to translating that vision into words. Around the 1,000-word mark, I felt settled into the project. I know how this prologue is going to go. Now I just have to write it.
